Earlier this week we had a client request assistance in finding a sofa. He is a good guy, a competent DIY’er and fun to work with. He admits he usually has unrealistic goals but says we never let him down so that’s our fault. Thanks, I think.
“I need a sofa fast! It needs to be big enough for 2 people but not a loveseat. But I can’t use a long sofa. It needs to be cheap as the dogs will not stay off of whatever we get. Oh, and I need it by Thanksgiving.”-B.E.
The Dog Sofa-Pillow Ready
Happy to say, we did find the sofa and it is almost too good to be true. The sofa’s below are 78″ which is larger than a loveseat, but smaller than most 84″ an above pieces. These are the (3) choices we presented as options. Serta is a trusted manufacturer and so the “reasonable” price didn’t scare me. Here’s the kicker, the sofa comes unassembled and since Mr. DIY would not blink at a project like this, we knew he could do the job. Mission accomplished and his pups now have a new “bed” for the holiday.
Wouldn’t Missy’s Pillows Look Fab On These Sofas?
All kidding aside, buying furniture online, sight unseen and without a test drive can be a disaster or it can be a joy. We advise clients to look at all of the parameters to see if the pieces will fit their needs. Weigh the risks factors and be realistic. We are happy to pass on our growing knowledge of online shopping. When it works it’s wonderful!
Coming Up
Clients often as us how we come up with the ideas for their design portfolios. We hear a lot of “I would never have thought of that!” Kristen has the touch when it comes to using fashion and decor together. I have my faithful standby of food and travel photography that always inspires me. Each of our projects are a mix of these under and over 50 inspirations. Because we see things from different perspectives , we work so well together. In the future, we will post more of the sample boards we use. Sometimes one “left on the editing floor” so to speak, could really be amazing rooms!
