In Lousiville we have a big event starting this weekend.  The two weeks approaching The Kentucky Derby are full of events where we all want to look our best.  So for this Friday Favorites, let’s have some fun with a color that is often initially overlooked but ever so memorable! Periwinkle!

Where Are You Periwinkle?

Periwinkle is not a color used often in our home’s decor.  We don’t see feed after feed of Instagram or Pinterest  photos showing off this delightful color.  This is all fine with us because when we do find it being used, the results are spectacular.

The beauty of periwinkle is that much is left to interpretation.  There are many shades and hues and they all work together so well.  Periwinkle looks equally at home in a sea of blue as above, or as a stand alone in the room below.  Either way, both dining rooms are periwinkle perfect!

In our interiors and exteriors, there is always room for this delightful color!  What do you think?  Might there be some periwinkle in your future?

When a color is so seemingly ageless, why not use it more often?

    1. I know! Kristen always does such a wonderful pairing fashion with decor. I love those periwinkle stools at the end of the bed. Why not create this for your home? After all, you are the most important people in your home!

    1. I can’t think of any way to use periwinkle that isn’t always fun! It really is a hidden gem.
