Sincerely Jules

Red is a happy color, a fiery color, one that is a bit sassy at times.  Red in our wardrobes is one that looks good on nearly every person.  But boy, red can be a real challenge in our decor.  This time of year, we sometimes see red, white and blue in interior decorating that can make us cringe!

Red, White & Blue Etiquette

“The flag should never be displayed with the union (stars) down, save as a signal of dire distress. The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise. The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always  aloft and free.”

We state our case.  Please do not use the flag in any other way except hanging properly in a place of honor.

Red and blue are such classic colors.  Combined with white they create some amazing interiors.

Oh!  Love the stark white decor with the pop of red.  Years ago, before we even took photos that had to be developed, one of our first designs was a living room with a pair of white sofas, turquoise walls and a single red pillow on each sofa.  It was striking!

Wishing everyone a wonderful week celebrating our nation’s birthday!

    1. Who knows when the holiday is this year..Mr. LBD says he is taking the whole week off. (He is always off!-retired)

    1. You too! AND, the navy bedroom is so much more classic than navy cabinet bases! I know we will be taking these out of kitchens before too much longer!

  1. I love navy! WE had our master bedroom painted Indigo Batik last year and I love it more and more every day! As for the white room with the red chairs and accents, perfection!

I hope that you have a fabulous weekend.
