We Spy With Our Designer Eye
Each Sunday we’ll share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. Designs that are a little different from the norm, like this one shared by Marianne Simoa. At first glance we see a well appointed bathroom. With a closer look we see a relevant design comprised of classic elements.
Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!
- timeless and classic bathroom is always inviting
- 3” x 6” white subway tile creates a creamy wainscoting around the room capped with decorative trim at the top
- a marble base, not wood, around the perimeter of the room adds to the vintage appeal
- an etched glass door leads to a secondary part of this bath with plenty of drawer storage
- clear glass candlesticks, a pot of natural greenery and a small vase of white flowers soften the decor
- beautiful antique piece of furniture, with small brass casters, used to store bath essentials
- fluffy white towels folded just right make us think of a spa retreat
- wood window blinds with vintage cloth tape detail
- the mix of the dark wood antique piece of furniture is a nice contrast against the white subway tile wainscot – goodbye to neutral bath decor
- charming mosaic marble floor adds to the utmost relaxation space
- a soft robe hung to put on right after the shower
- wicker basket full of washcloths at the ready
- peace before the morning rush
- lingering scents all day long
- the one room in our homes that truly takes care of us always…bliss

Coming Up Tomorrow
I love how you can break down a room. I look and think, that’s a nice room, but am unable to tell you why. But with your eye for detail, you can tell me exactly what makes this room so appealing. I guess that what makes you the professional and me the amateur!
This one is Kristen….she has the “blessing and the curse” as well of being able to see every small detail in a space! Savor your Sunday!
I’m like Donna…I know if I like or dislike something, but I’m not always able to figure out the why—but I’m working on it. I love that the furniture is dark and seems to ground the space with all of the whites around it!!

You just pin pointed why using a designer is such a value…our job is to help you successfully achieve what you like and how you want to live. So many designer’s try to “tell you what you like”…never works and never will. We may open up a few new ideas but ultimately you will know when a design is right.
Those gorgeous candlesticks add a very elegant feel to the whole room. I sometimes have a scented candle in the bathroom but formal candlesticks bring it to a whole new level, Lxx
Yep…leave it to Kristen to find the glam in everything!
I prefer also classic bathrooms! Thanks for the inspiration!
