We Spy With Our Designer Eye

Each Sunday we’ll share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor.  Designs that are a little different from the norm, like this one shared by Southern Living.  At first glance we see all this enticing sunlight. With a closer look we see all the reasons we want to spend a lazy Sunday savoring a space like this!

Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!

• new found space, perhaps a previously unused porch, on the back of the house
• perfect gathering place for Summer evenings that turn into Fall
• large windows allow for both light and fresh cut grass smelling breezes filter through 
• screens provide an insect barrier to protect us from hungry mosquitos 
• a simple, quiet and relaxing spot to enjoy viewing the wonderful back yard 
• wooden porch floors blend with the natural setting
• solid amber and gray patterned pillows add just the right touch of subtle color on the dreamy daybed sofa
• an iron and wood side table is a place for your morning cup of coffee or evening snack 
• lattice fretwork, below the open section of screen, compliments the shake walls left to patina to a soft weathered gray
• oh, what about the columns in the corner…wonder if they are original to the architecture?
• we bet there is a wooden screen door…with a worn spot by the handle that swells a bit in the summer and slams anxiously in the early spring days
• woven lantern accessories and a simle potted fern complete the decor of this inviting outdoor space
• the newly married couple starting and ending their busy professional  weekdays each day
• she curled up, mac in lap, working as he does guy things in the cool vintage garage she can see from the porch
• the party overflowing under some cool party lights and chirping crickets
• there’s nothing like a screened in porch!
