We Spy With Our Designer Eye

Each Sunday we’ll share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor.  Designs that are a little different from the norm, like this one shared by luxe source. At first glance we see the shinning, black lacquered door.  With a closer look we see all the reasons this is such a stunning, transitional entry!

Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!

Medium Dress 2

  • light floods the entry from a transom above the door
  • substantial base and door casements are a subtle element of this design
  • a casement framed mirror is the backdrop for the entry’s decor
  • smooth white walls are a stark contrast to the rich black entry door
  • killer custom wood ceiling in a pattern complimenting the entry floor tile pattern
  • a mix of burled wood and aged metals set the scene with the console table flanked by a pair of creamy leather seamed chairs
  • the perfectly scaled large pendant illuminates the entryway in such style
  • coordinating sconces light up each side of the console table
  • multiple sized blue and green glass vases decorate the table’s surface
  • deep plum cubes tucked underneath the console table add a pop of color and extra seating
  • oh my…look at these metal, slightly industrial french doors mixed into the design!
  • a colorful inlay honeycomb floor tile pattern meets more traditional wood plank flooring
  • the young couple listening for the doorbell to welcome friends a few more times thru to the back patio for a Fall alfresco dinner

  1. Wow, that ceiling is amazing – I’ve never seen anything like it. There’s a lot going on here but it all works together beautifully, Lxx
