We Spy With Our Designer Eye
Each Sunday we’ll share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. A design that caught our eye and made us stop and enjoy, like this one shared by jason arnold interiors and photographer alyssa rosenheck. At first glance all we see is this fantastic floor! With a closer look, we see so many expertly executed details that make this design seem effortless.
Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!
- a sophisticated black and white decor is always right!
- neutral color palette with creamy walls, just a shade off the white ceilings
- black and white large geometric patterned painted wood floor
- long ottoman in a fresh green velvet fabric begins the addition of color
- simple wrought iron staircase handrails
- bright white moldings and window frames compliment the floor color palette
- square panel wall speaks to us as we wander up the stairs
- soft ivory drapery climbs nearly to the ceiling
- bold brass chandelier centers the room
- large abstract piece is the perfect scale for the space
- an old vintage dresser is comfortable in this modern decor
- a mix of accessory styles with the bust sculpture and hip task lamp
- gilded drapery rods almost like jewelry
- traditional chair completely updated with a stripe accent pillow
- the dining room contrasting decor drawing us across rich hardwood floors
- perhaps the scent of a patchouli candle
- the nervous young guy waiting for his date to come down the stairs

Terrific balance here, Laurel. That floor is so statement that it could over-shadow everything else but the ottoman and the picture can really hold their own, Lxx
Nothing like a painted floor and this on is tops!
Painting the floor?? Now that’s interesting!!
But of course my eye went to the green ottoman, right away. That fabulous pop of color just tickles my fancy!!

Yes! We’d love for more clients to make the jump and do this…especially when/if a hardwood floor is not the best wood or in need of a new finish. Yes the green is a happy color!
I love the mix of old and new. The beautiful wood chest and chair add warmth to the space and the pops of color with the bench and the art look wonderful with the floor. This is a fabulous house.
Indeed this home is wonderful!
