We Spy With Our Designer Eye

Each  Sunday we share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor.  A design that caught our eye and made us stop and enjoy, like this one shared by papernstich.  At first glance we see this small, tidy outdoor space.  With a closer look, we notice all of the intricate details that make this space so intimate!

Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!

  • wind down or ease into the day on this modern and cozy balcony
  • concrete planters, filled with many green plants, provide privacy within the neighborhood
  • a place to sit and gaze over the stars at night
  • side table is a place for your favorite cocktail
  • bare feet get a soft place with a long, multiple color, vintage runner
  • snuggle-up with the soft pumpkin colored throw
  • a pair of modern saucer white lounge chairs contrast the honey wood deck
  • patterned pillows add comfort with a lovely mix of textiles
  • the ever ready sun hat hangs on the wall
  • this is a planter’s dream space!  container gardening brings so much life to the space
  • silver wall sconces light up the welcoming space when dusk approaches
  • horizontal metal balcony railing is an architectural feature
  • the busy, professional gal, after settling in and kicking off her shoes, just ran back in to let her friend in for a quick catch up
  • our favorite pandora playlist will be playing in the background

  1. That’s such a great way to make use of a smaller outdoor area!!
Our patio is tiny and I think we were wrong to keep our table and 4 chairs in the space.

    1. Yes, sometimes we try to use furnishings from one space that might be best for the next. We help clients decide how to repurpose, and at times remove, things to make each new space work the best. We edit and purge clothing all the time but when it comes to furnishings there can be a mental roadblock!

    1. Thanks…but this one is all Kristen. For other readers, she and I switch every other week on the We Spy posts. You can tell my the LBD (hers is much more flirty!) and also my the author of the post. Yes, she always chooses photos that put us all exactly where she wants us to be!
