What If We Don’t Want A White Bathroom?
We Spy With Our Designer Eye
Each Sunday we share a design that caught our eye. An interior’s design that made us pause, savor and enjoy. Like this one shared by leemconcepts. At first, we go “wow” look at this mustard soaking tub! With a closer look we take in each and every detail that makes this bath both new and vintage at the same time.
Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!
- vintage cast iron tub reglazed to a crisp white, slippery new finish
- wall mount filler controls, easy to reach and keep steamy hot water coming
- ornate tub feet finished in the softest gray-green color
- 12×12 marble tiles, in a random color application, are both warm and cool…and NO subway tile here!
- rear marble ledge, at just the right height, the perfect place for extra scents and towels…perhaps a nighttime candle?
- no need for extra towel bars, just drape the bath mat over the tub…wet or dry
- look how discrete the grab bar is, yet ready to help us get reluctantly out of this sanctuary
- how many shades of ochre can we count in the amazing tiled arch that encases this welcoming spot
- and yes, that is navy on the wall…such a small area but so impactful!
- more of the subtle gray-green color for the doors and moldings lets us think maybe we can take a pass on expected white moldings
- the patterned, cement tile floor – hard to know what century it is from
- is there music playing, or do we just listen to the occassional drip into the brim filled tub?

That tub is so amazing!! If we had a tub like that, that’s exactly the color I’d want it!

Surely you can work in this color somehow!
