The Perfect “Me” Spot

We Spy With Our Designer Eye

Each  Sunday  we share a design that caught our eye.  An interior’s design that made us pause, savor and enjoy.  Like this one shared by grand traditions.  Simple elegance is what had us at “hello”.  Yet with a closer look we see all the fine details that have us wishing for a cup of coffee and a good book!

Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!

  •  barely there baseboards that blend seamlessly with the creamy wall color and finish
  • a burnished brass, single wall sconce that no doubt fills this corner with a magic glow at dusk
  • ah…the round bent wood arm chairs so smooth we just want to run our hands over them
  • the slightly faded look on the chair legs, almost as if this beauty has been restored from a slight flood
  • a duo of complimentary vessels perched on a charming wood stool
  • love the reflection of the outdoors in the paned floor mirror
  • subtle warm wood window sill compliments the slightly rounded drywall, or perhaps, plaster window casement
  • a dark bronze metal window ready to crank out for each perfect weather day, or showcase the raindrops equally as well
  • 4 corner pom-poms grace this artistic pillow
  • under our socked feet, the wide plank washed knotty floor is “Risky Business” ready
  • all we’d add is a well worn black leather ottoman and some jazzy blues for this to be our favorite “me” spot!

Savor Your Sunday

  1. I love these kinds of spots!! I would never have thought to put the mirror behind the chair like that!

    1. As designer’s we use mirrors for what, not who, they reflect. Trick of the trade which always adds to the decor.Watching a new high rise go up in a mirror in our home…backwards!

  2. I love how you described the details you noticed – even down to the feet on the chair and the tiny pom-poms on the pillow. The spot is a lovely ‘me’ space – I could see myself sitting there, sipping coffee or tea, and reading a book. Or just day dreaming. 🙂 Ah…
