We Spy With Our Designer Eye
Each Sunday we’ll share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. Designs that are a little different from the norm, like this one shared by The Decorista. At first glance all we want to do is curl up and do our Sunday lazing in this interior design. With a closer look we can see all the architectural details that set this design apart from the trendy decor of the times.
Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!
- deep purple, almost like a dusty grape, tufted velvet sectional
- electric chic living space
- stark white walls, the perfect backdrop for the architectural details
- rich dark brown floors with the planks laid on a diagonal
- large, glass top coffee table acts almost like a mirror, reflecting different elements in the room
- ornate, ivory marble fireplace so full of carvings, makes us ponder the history of the space
- the beautiful hanging chandelier…is it new or vintage…perfect as it does double duty in the mirror
- look at the bronze frame detail of the large mirror above the fireplace!
- the hint of the room’s plaster crown molding and door details looking back at us in the same mirror
- gray pillows placed perfectly on the sofa mix with a little glam of the fuzzy one
- the fireplace accessories are perhaps a collection of memorable travel and the lingering scent of a candle enjoyed last night
- the black summer cover of the fireplace adds contrast to the lighter decor
- stacks of picture books wait patiently on the bottom shelf of the table, ready to join in the curl fest
- a chrome, table top sculpture finishes off the design
- a gal with a top-knot and boyfriend sweater over pjs, and her guy in his glasses in the adjoining kitchen getting coffee before settling in this Sunday morning
