We Spy With Our Designer Eye

Each  Sunday  we share a design that caught our eye.  An interior’s design that made us pause, savor and enjoy.  Like this one shared by 3carchitecture.  At first glance, we see a simple plank table in wood hues, nearly the same as the floor, which grounds this dining area.  Taking a little more time, we notice all kinds of interesting details that make this architecture so very unique!

Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!

• yep that is a chaise lounge in this dining space!  inky fabric with polished legs, next to a shiny table, all set with a comfy throw and pillow
• the only pop of color, in the neutral decor, some kitty grass centered in elongated tabletop boxes
• inset stacked travertine marble creates just enough of a mantle shelf atop a honed black hearth
• subtly built-in we see a lighted display hutch, could even be sliding panel and glass doors for access
• look!  two different stair rails, one a gleaming soft brass and the other wood
• we’re ready to write our dinner invites at the glass desk in the loft!
• maybe even holiday cards with a favorite Christmas movie on the tv
• rich wood panels cover the header and hall walls
• egg white, cushioned dining chairs must be in guest ready protective fabric
• large modern art over the fireplace might be reflected in the equally impressive silver leaf framed mirror
• art sculptures grace both a creamy console and an iron based table near the stairs
• ok, ok…yes there is this barrel, decked out ceiling….WOW!
• not to be overlooked, we see you Mr fixture making a statement
• just the right scale of moldings, at crown and base, all in the same soft dreamy color as the walls
• a plump, fluffy Persian curled up on the chaise, a bit put out that his owner is not home to turn on his lamp
• just a hint of patchouli, and gin, is all that remains from last night’s old friends “no occasion” dinner party
