The Sunday Spy 2.6.22
Who Cares If It’s Raining….
We Spy With Our Designer Eye
Each Sunday we share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. A design that caught our eye and made us stop and enjoy, like this one shared by kaemingkdesign. Immediately we see a modern, yet comforting rustic overall design in this bath. With a closer look, we can almost feel all the creamy texture of this daily bathing spot!
Ooooh…Here’s What I Love About This Interior Design!
- lots of sunlight streams in thru the small window
- 4” x 4” creamy shower wall and ceiling hand cut tile
- the same glossy tile covers the remaining bath walls
- floor to ceiling custom linen shower curtain puddles gracefully at the smooth marble curb
- recessed, chunky framed cubby to hold natural shower products
- small, penny round shower floor tile in such subtle shades
- antiqued vintage brass exposed shower system with rain head, and handheld shower, is a shower lover’s dream
- rustic hooks outside the shower to hang bath towels and scented sprigs
- square inset center shower drain just waiting for the sudsy water to trickle thru
- a dropped main bath ceiling only makes the shower feel larger
- the gal pondering a lingering afternoon shower after a morning working in her garden
- no music…anticipating the soon to be sound of water from the rainhead shower

The bathroom is beautiful but I have to be honest I do not like the grout color. Otherwise everything is fabulous!
Ah..very good eye! This tile is hand thrown from a wood mold. This means ALL the edges will be irregular and the way we perceive the grout color, changes with the lighting and the shadows that occur. If you look at the walls in the shower the field is much more uniform in color. Same tile, same grout..different types of lighting. And as we all know…we all have different ideas of what is the perfect LBD for our homes! Thank you for the comment..nice to chat!
I always love a window in the shower. I miss that detail.
