We Spy With Our Designer Eye
Each Sunday we share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. A design that caught our eye and made us stop and enjoy, like this one shared by archdaily. Personaly, I am begining to work on our own lower level renovation. Just as Laurel often gets inspiration from glorious food photos, I use fashion as my muse. Today let’s look at this amazing lower level design!
Ooooh…Here’s What We Love About This Interior Design!
- stairs leading down into an open dining, kitchen and living room space
- exterior patio as much a part of the interior as it is outside
- muted concrete finished flooring with just the right patterned area rug
- hethered, oatmeal large upholstered sectional offers plenty of seating
- sleek black iron stair hardware with narrow natural wood treads and risers
- small, square inset ceiling lighting, with a dark trim marries well with the black accents of the decor
- what looks like hidden doors underneath the staircase to provide storage for all our needs
- kitchen island in the backdrop with warm wood back panel contrasts against the white countertop
- a bowl of fresh lemons and limes on the dining room table ready to garnish your favorite drink!
- easily movable, metal stools tucked underneath for kiddos to sit at for an afternoon snack
- colorful accents are just right in a very natural palette
Before we look at another view of this wonderful design…here are my muses!
Fashion and Interior Design oh so similar!
Let’s Take A Look At Another View!
- wow! this does not feel like a lower level
- modern decor abounds adding so much personality to the space
- large floor to ceiling dark framed windows create indoor/outdoor living…another view to the outdoor sitting area
- pops of royal blue, navy and mustard yellow pillow accents
- stone wall with cozy black fireplace to keep us toasty on a chilly day
- another view of these perfectly stained, low sheen, concrete floors
- iconic womb chair waiting for someone to come snuggle and prop up with a book by the fire
- marble top coffee table ready to serve us a morning cup of coffee
- floor and table lamps adding the perfect about of ambiance to the room
- music, well, it has to be bluesy jazz don’t you think
Bon Weekend!

Thinking about your home’s interior design?

I just love those pops of yellows,
