It doesn’t take much for Laurel to be inspired for an interior’s design. Such is the example of this pink gin bottle she spotted during one of her travels. I agree! The colors in this photo are simple and sophisticated at the same time. Let’s look at how to use this beautiful color in our homes. Get ready to blush!
Each Sunday we’ll share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. Modern Design can feel warm and inviting like this one shared via BHDM Design. At first glance we are immediately drawn into this attractive space. With a closer look, we see so many fine features in this carefully planned decor.
We live in a tactile world. How often do we see with the touch of our fingertips? It’s human nature to caress something that appeals to us. It’s also nearly impossible to keep our hands off something that says “Do not touch!” No where is this more real than in the interior designs of our homes. We just have to feel how good the design is!

Confidence Inspires Motivation For DIY Home Projects
As a young designer and homeowner, there is nothing I enjoy more than helping others create homes that are perfectly suited to their lifestyles and their budgets. Ah yes…the budget. We all have one. Most of us also know the super weekend warrior who seems to DIY quicker and for less money than others. Maybe they have a secret to their success. Maybe they use the right interior design team for that outside the box thinking of sheer confidence!
Each Sunday we’ll share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. The calendar says Spring but Mother Nature is not letting go of a cozy fireplace just yet in this beautiful living room shared via Jenkins Interiors. At first glance we see a fairly traditional decor. With a closer look, we see several design styles that all blend together so nicely. Let’s curl up and Savor this Sunday!

In our firm, laurelbledsoedesign, Kristen and I are privileged to work with so many wonderful and interesting clients that allow us to push the limits of conventional design. We are always honored to help them achieve a design, and decor, that is the perfect LBD for them. Our job is to develop and implement a concept that makes us all “want to have what she’s having”!
Mr. LBD has wanted to convert a church into our home on several occasions. He has even seriously looked at two I can remember that were vast caverns of space complete with enough Sunday school rooms to be a hotel. Except for picturing the baptismal tank as the most wonderful home spa, I just couldn’t warm up to the idea. (pun intended) In addition, I have memories of serving a hundred hungry men “prayer pancake breakfast” far to often in a dark church kitchen to imagine a kitchen like that as our own.
Often in a home, that we otherwise love, there is a design feature that is a little “off”. Something that just does not feel right to us. The marble in the photo above could be one such feature. Although there are some cool furnishings in this room, I’m not getting the urge to cuddle up yet. Is the marble just “too blue”? Is a costly renovation in the future?
A day does not go by where the term “downsizing” is not heard in our industry. Even if someone is not looking to move from a larger abode, to a smaller one, in the near future, many are tossing around the idea. What is refreshing to us is that it’s not just us “older baby boomers” pondering living larger in smaller homes. We’ve got some pretty savvy younger groups who say why wait?
What if we never “upsized” our homes and therefore didn’t need to “downsize”? We know just a group who has this figured out. We are always excited to be asked to help them develop a plan to make their homes the perfect LBD for them!
