Sunday Strolling

Each Sunday we share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. A design that caught our eye and made us stop and enjoy, like this one shared by amberinteriors. Second only to the curb appeal that draws us into a house, is the welcome invitation of the entry that draws us right in! Join us today as “We Spy With Our Designer Eye”!

Sunday Strolling
Each Sunday we share a design that caught our eye and we took some time to savor. A design that caught our eye and made us stop and enjoy, like this one shared by georgianandesign. In a time of an abundance of transitional design, it is comforting to pause and reconnect with the beauty of classic design. So timeless! Join us today as “We Spy With Our Designer Eye”!
Ooooh…Here’s What We Love About This Interior Design!
- a soft color palette that allows for the room’s decor object to be the focal point
- notice the absence of a stark white trim between the walls and the ceiling
- timeless detail on the fireplace mantel makes us want to run our fingers over the embedded groves
- aged firebox and hearth brick, dusty from years of use
- a pair of mossy, unevenly growing snake plants, in pedestal urns, remind us it’s ok to be slightly different and fit in
- is the game of chess just starting or is there someone in the house who is a prankster?
- comfy, high side wing chairs welcome all fireside activities
- how many of these warm, worn brass light fixtures have, unfortunately, gone by the wayside in modern decor
- love the patina framed oil of the child with their pet over the fireplace
- a ladderback chair makes us think there is a table, at least for a foursome game night, nearby
- lovely soft sage color on the walls and moldings offset by equally soft white ceiling
- dark leather-bound books, the classics perhaps, mixed with golden urns in a charcoal single, freestanding bookcase
- wood floors with just enough sheen to pick up the natural light streaming in
- need a little more color in a decor…imagine a vibrant vase of summer’s last garden flowers on the mantle
- what fun to picture a family with a big bowl of popcorn laughing over a game of Uno, and the smart beagle underfoot waiting for the errant kernel to fall to the floor!
